Raven

Raven is a ranger from the jungles of the south, near Illthmar. He is an expert archer, with double specialization in the long bow. He has a magical bow that allows him to fire three shots per round. It is a strangth bow, matching his 18/60 strength, with appropriate bonusses on to hit and damage. He wears an elven cloak and boots, allowing him to move silently and to be able to hide very effectively. He is a veteran of before the great war which was an ally of the hobbits, which let him escape through the time door through which they came to the present. He is thus a master of ancient lore, especially of technology. He hides this fact well, using his most prized possession, an old world blaster, only when in life threatening danger. This he keeps in a girdle of many pouches. His clothing is black and he wears a wide brimmed hat of the Clint Eastwood western style, somewhat mexican looking, adorned with fancy feathers and decorative pins and medals of those that have fallen victim to his attack. He is very well travelled, and makes an excellent guide to most parts of Asterland. He has travelled into the westland many times, and is familiar with the secret entrances to the lands.

He is also expert with the sword, choosing a two handed style, with a bastard sword in one hand and a longsword in the other, and is ambidextrous with the same. He can deal out massive damage with his strength bonusses applied. He is a friend to all hobbits, and will fight to defend them irregardless of personal risk. He has a hate for trolls, which he has fought many times. His bastard sword will superheat whenever a troll is present, doing an additional d4 damage from burning. The sword is intellegent, and can fight on even if Raven falls in battle, which it will do, cursing as it slices opponents to pieces. The sword is an artifact, and can preform heal critical twice per day. It once belonged to his father, who was a powerful ruler in the days of old.

Raven is deeply in love with the daughter of the king of Alexander, and it is for the cause of winning her hand that he adventures in the southern jungles, to convince a hard hearted monarch of his worth. He must gain his own fortune to impress the king before he becomes a prince himself as well as doing mighty deeds. She, Melissa of the Aspen, feels the same way for him, and wishes desperately to marry him.
